There is nothing wrong with his memory: she was right here, right under this tree. He knows, because he watched her from the bough of that tree right over there and... why he expected she might be in the same place is... ridiculous. He should have known better.

Still, he wants to... no, needs to... be where she was, where he remembers seeing her. It's reminiscent of the way he needs to visit her in the cave when he's home on the Planet: while it hurts, it's better to be near her than not near her. This is no waterfall cave, though, and Lucrecia is... not here. He takes a seat on the grass and looks out over the lake, but he doesn't stay still for long: he's restless and tired: he hasn't slept since they spoke if, in fact, that's what happened.

And so he lies back on the grass, his right hand forming a makeshift pillow beneath his head. The green leaves mesmerize and lull him and the breeze wafts over him like a blanket: slowly, slowly, his eyes close. His breathing is deep and steady and all he feels is the beating of his heart as he drifts off into a sleep blessedly devoid of dreams.

This time.
