My name is Vincent Valentine. I could tell you I was with Shin-Ra Manufacturing in "Administrative Research" -- also known as the Turks -- trained to deadly accuracy with a gun. I could tell you about the most beautiful Lucrecia Crescent, and Hojo and Sephiroth and the disaster that is the Jenova Project. I could tell you about the pain of death and rebirth, about hosting a monster, about temptation and taming the monster within, about sin and salvation and atonement, or I could tell you about the blissful relief of nearly thirty years' sleep and my guilt upon awakening.

But telling stories is not something I do. If you want to know, you'll have to ask. And if you have to ask... trust me, you don't want to know.

The first three words one would use to describe Vincent are tall, thin, and brooding. He's got ragged black hair that reaches nearly to his waist and wears an equally ragged red cloak over his black clothes. His left arm below the elbow is covered by a metal claw he refers to as a gauntlet and his right arm is clad in a buckled leather bracer. A slender pink ribbon might be visible over the leather near his elbow, although it's usually hidden. The mantle covering the lower half of his face is held closed by a series of buckles; a matching red headband covers his forehead. His feet are clad in golden sabatons. A one-time operative for an organization known as the Turks (a division of the Shin-Ra Electric Power company, formerly Shin-Ra Manufacturing), Vincent's current weapon of choice, holstered on his right thigh, is a triple-barrel revolver he calls Cerberus.

In the past, Vincent's body was modified to host a fearsome demonic beast named Chaos. However, it's his never-ending duty and struggle to keep Chaos from emerging. And please, whatever you do, don't talk to Vincent about love.
